Christians must believe and embrace the fact that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is alive today. Jesus Christ - the Son of God has come down from heaven, died, rose again and has returned to heaven until all His enemies are made His footstool. He he died for our sins and rose never to die again. Our very salvation depends upon this one critical fact.

It is impossible for man to serve someone that is not alive. Scripture tells us in II Corinthians 5:15 ("And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them and rose again").

We believe the Bible is the inspired and only infallible and authoritative written Word of God. (II Timothy 3:16; Ephesians 3:5; II Peter 3:2)

We believe that in Jesus Christ dwelleth all fullness of the Godhead bodily. (Col. 2:9, Col.1:19)

We believe in the virgin birth; that Jesus was both human and divine- God manifest in the flesh.

We believe in the death burial, and resurrection of Jesus.

We believe in baptism in water by immersion in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and the baptism of the Holy Ghost, speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance. (Acts 2:4, 38)

We believe in a holy, sanctified life, divine healing, Communion and feet washing, and glorious catching away (rapture) of the saints when Jesus returns in the clouds of glory to take His people to heaven. (I Thess. 4:3-7, 13-17)

We believe that there is only one God, who revealed Himself to humanity in the person of Jesus Christ. (Deuteronomy 6:4; 1 Timothy 3:16, John 14:9)

We believe in one God who is infinite in power, holy in nature, attributes and purpose; omniscient (all knowing), omnipotent (all powerful), and omnipresent (everywhere). We believe that he is revealed to us, Father in creation, Son in redemption, and Holy Spirit in His comforting grace that never leaves those who trust him. (I Cor. 8:6, Eph. 4:6, II Cor. 5:19 Joel 2:28)

We believe that salvation is only found in Jesus Christ and is appropriated to humanity by God’s grace through the New Testament new-birth experience. (Acts 4:12; Ephesians 2:8; John 3:3-7)

Mt. Olive Church has been a beacon of faith and hope in Greensboro, North Carolina for generations. Founded with a heart for serving God and the local community, Mt. Olive began as a small gathering of believers committed to the Gospel and to one another.

Over the years, the church has grown both spiritually and numerically, impacting countless lives through worship, teaching, outreach, and discipleship.

Pastor Sylvester Williams was born and raised in Pittsylvania County (Axton, VA). From an early age, his parents instilled godly principles into him and his two brothers. He began playing the piano at the age of 9.

His immediate and extended family are all musically talented which led to him playing the piano at family events and for his local church. After graduating from high school, Pastor Williams received his Bachelor of Science from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) in Richmond, VA.

Later, he moved to Charlotte, NC. In 2002, God led Pastor Williams to begin Solid Rock Christian Church in Huntersville, NC. With just his wife and three young kids, they grew the ministry.

In 2017, he returned to Reformed Theological Seminary. In 2018, Pastor Williams planted Overcomers Ministry in Mooresville, NC. In the secular world, he has worked as an IT professional for almost 30 years. In God's Kingdom, he's an anointed preacher and teacher. Pastor Williams currently resides in Huntersville, NC with his five children and wife of 25 years.

Lady Simone Williams was born and raised in Atlanta, GA by a single mother. The youngest of four, Lady Williams received the Holy Ghost and was baptized in Jesus’ name at 15 years old and has never looked back.

After graduating from Wake Forest University with a degree in Accounting, she went on to get her Master of Taxation degree from University of South Carolina – Columbia. She worked for one of the largest public accounting firms until she started her own financial planning business.

Meanwhile, she met and married Elder Sylvester Williams. They have 5 kids - Sylvester (22), Sarai (20), Silas (18), Solomon (16) and Sophia (15). The greatest 18 years of her life were spent as a stay-at-home mom, but in 2016 she went back to work in the corporate world.

All the while, her number one love has always been Jesus Christ. As a pastor’s wife, she’s been a worship leader, usher, soundboard technician, church administrator, Sunday School teacher, youth worker and so much more. She loves the Lord with all her heart and her family is her number one priority.
